D-shape wire

In my box I have some D-shape silver wire, very small, probably 16 gauge. My husband bought it for me a while back. I have never used it. Now I want to do a project using this size wire. Can I get some? No. I could get some from America which would cost loads in postage, or I could get some off ebay paying a high price. (I consider £30 for an ounce of silver to be too high)
I have tried pulling a larger size down, but the draw plates don't go that small.
I suppose what i need is to find somebody who's got some spare. I need about 4feet.
