Hi,
I'm just getting into making my own bracelets but I am struggling to source certain items.
I am able to get them in a matt finish but would like them in a polish finish.
Is it realistic to polish small charms to a mirror finish (or shiny finish)?

its time consuming but work down the grades with small rubber polishing wheels

You will be pleased with the result, but take care to run them slowly and move them about. Dennis.

I do not have the book, but Stephen Goldsmith is world renowned ....so maybe worth a read of the new book? I am sure it is available at the usual suspect sites, but as I'm not a fan of them I will not promote them.

I polish everything up on my big motor big or small, just project your fingernails from being polished down!
I used to think my best friend at college was mad having fully varnished nails but in retrospect it was probably a good idea
Stephen Goldsmith also does courses at the Goldsmiths Centre in London as well as other jewellery schools around the UK (and further afield). He was recommended to me by Pearlescence on this forum. He's lovely and incredibly helpful whether you're a complete beginner or been in the trade for years.
