imbedding tiny gold elements into wet enamel before firing

Hi,
I will be experimenting with enamelling and have a question, please. I will be wet packing the enamel into a formed recess shape in my sterling silver pendant that has been cast specifically for this purpose. My question is: after a first layer of enamel has been fired can I then place tiny 18ct gold elements and wet pack the second layer of enamel around them so that they are imbedded in the enamel. Will they bond to the enamel and be secure when fired? Any advice greatly appreciated, thank you.

Should be fine I have seen similar, although always in the first layer, is there any reason why you can't place them in the original layer.
