I am requiring some market research on sterling silver finishes.
For a necklace pendant...
My question is :
What finish do you prefer on sterling silver ( a flat sterling silver surface)?
1) Matt finish
2) Mirror polish
3) Brushed effect
This will be very appreciated results for me.

Tricky question. I like different finishes for different items so it all depends on what I'm making and the style.

As with Elaine, the one click approach would not represent a true answer from me. A piece might come out of the tumbler shiny, but if the design calls for it I might frost the back, satin finish the sides and only leave the shine on the front, or a different variation entirely.
Perhaps we need a fourth category: 'a combination of the above'.

I agree with all of the above. I will add though that my customers seem to prefer textured but shiny.
