Lost wax ring sizing
Hello,
I recently went on a short lost wax jewellery course and would like to make some more rings. I’ve been looking at wax tubes but can’t find anything with a diameter smaller than 15mm. How would I go about creating a smaller ring size?
Thanks in advance!

Start with a solid tube and drill out the centre

15.00mm is actually quite small and would give you a ring size of H. However, you would have no problem running a little wax inside, using a heated knife or carver, to reduce it further. It helps to have a wax reamer to perfect the shape.

Lovely, thanks for your help. I want to make a size F ring so will try out those ideas.

Very interesting video josef, but Kate Wolf is very practised at this. The confident way she works with wax is reminiscent of throwing pots. Looks easy but takes years of practice. Dennis.

I guess but it's easy to melt wax and try again it's just practice I guess. I enjoy turning wax I find it almost therapeutic!

That video is amazing. I've got some wolf tools, but need a clamp for my flex shaft. Wonder where I could get one of those... just googled it but it came up with nothing.
