reflections
Hi
Does anyone have advice on how to reduce reflections?
I use alot of texture and matt finish in my work which always photographs well, but when I try to take pics of anything with a polished surface, I always get reflections of the camera and me.
Thanks
Jodie

You need to use a light tent and defuse the light, so it is not direct light, you should be able to pick a light tent up for less than £20 on ebay.

I bought the cheapest 40cm light cube for around £10, to try it out and never felt the need to upgrade it. 50cm might be better if you have the space, but don't plan to fold it up after use, because that's hell.
In fact the results can be a little flat unless you reflect some light back in with a piece of shiny silver card, or a cheap clamp-on LED reading lamp, with a flexible stem.

Yet another possibility, if you have a reflex camera, is using a polirizing filter. Sometimes it helps.

When not using a light box, I use a piece of white card to block reflections
