I am trying to edit a post but I don't seem to have the edit post option but at the bottom it tells me I have permission to edit my posts.
Can someone help - am I completely missing something?

Yup, but only cos it's behind-the-scenes. You have up to 5 hours after posting something to edit it, after which it becomes locked (mods & admins can still edit though). I assume it's for your sale thread? I'd just post an updated list of what's sold (copy & paste) as an interim solution.
