You can't put heat anywhere near turquoise it actually totally burns into pieces.

Yes Caroline has thought it through when I got stuck, which proves the value of the forum and that two heads are better than one.
As the square diamond is quite hefty, I would still use thicker tubing and then rivet from inside the ring as now described. It would also need a heavier shank, to be durable.
Also, the setting of the diamond would have to nest closely in the turquoise by carving a recess for it. Dennis.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I will solder the diamond setting on the tube, set the diamond. Put tube through turquoise then rivet tube onto the shank.
Will probably do a progress update when I’m making it :)
