This venture is the baby of George and her gang.
I'm just a hanger on but a very happy one. :)

What's a dongle?

I wish I was there!
I'm too scared to do an event on my own but with others it might even be fun. :)
I'm guessing that Julie will do her bead making demonstrations on the little table to the right.

I think jo means mobile internet access! A dongle is a device ususally plugged into a USB port, can be used to refer to anything that pligs in like that but often used to mean mobile internet access :)

Good grief - that stand is vast!

Lesley, I bet you'd have had a whale of a time. Never mind, I'm sure there'll be more opportunities.

lol far to young to be left really 4, 8 and 11 oh and the eldest is waiting for his friends to come cos it was his birthday on Mon. I was going to take them tomorrow but the prices put me off i would have had to pay for all of them so i spent it on beads instead:Y:

I seem to have missed this. What are they doing at Malvern?

Di Sandland
26-09-2009, 07:18 PM
Its the RHS Autumn show - a big event in the garden-type/county fairs calendar. A group of them, including George have a stand there and they've taken some of Lesley's work as well.

I know you'll want to know, so, although I don't know the full details, I can tell you that not one of my pieces sold.

Boo hoo,
Boo hoo,
Boo hoo..............and, oh yes, boo hoo. :'(

I think George and Julie did somewhat better :) and, Fiona, it sounds like you did a whole heap better - congratulations!

Oh what a shame, it happens though. On the bright side, you'll have plenty of stock ready for whatever comes next ;)

Emerald
28-09-2009, 05:00 PM
Oh Lesley, sorry i am afraid it does happenn not nice when it happens to you though but as Lucinda said just think of all that lovely stock you have , sit back relax have a cuppa oh and chocolate[]

That's crazy Lesley.. I saw your jewellery, and it was beautiful..

Di Sandland
28-09-2009, 05:42 PM
Oh, Lesley, that's the pits! Its gorgeous stuff tho, so although its a horrid thing to happen (been there, so know exactly how it feels) it has absolutely nothing to do with your jewellery. Did the others give you any indication of what they thought it might be?

caroleallen
28-09-2009, 06:39 PM
It's really upsetting when that happens. I think sharing a stand rarely works for everyone. It seems like a good idea but people get confused if there are too many styles on one stand.

As the others say Lesley, its not your jewellery that's at fault. Keep on believing in yourself and keep your chin up. Your jewellery is beautiful and people have missed out on having a lovely piece made by you. Here's a big [[]] from me.

None of my 'good' stuff sold either. That said, it was our first outing to this particular event, and I suspect it's the sort where they like to see you there a few times before buying any of the more expensive things.

The stand sharing worked almost brilliantly, 3/4 of the group, and the guests, matched very well, and the overall look was great until the cheap tat arrived and swamped the display....

Nuff said!

We'll do it again though :)

Lesley - your pieces were stunning IRL. So please don't be sad. []
