post length on stud earrings

Hi - can I ask what length of post most of you favour for post & scroll earrings? I usually make mine and wondered if 10mm was too long? Or perhaps they should be a tad longer?:confused: Thank you

I generally go for 11mm, but sometimes get asked for longer by people with thicker earlobes! I usually start slightly longer, as I tend to mangle the very end a little when I'm twisting them to harden and it's much easier to snipa bit off if they seem too long than to have to remake them if they've ended up seeming a bit short.
