For those who've been helping me in the advice section regarding my silver pentacle, here's the final product (phew, after about 10 hours work..OK I'm still learning a lot..)
I'm sorry I haven't put production photos but I will as soon as they're on-line.
It's basically twisted wire only except for the central pentagon which has been etched with "XIII" in nitric acid.
I've also put pictures of the bracelet to go with it (this was a custom order from a teenager from Belgium who had asked for a pentacle and a "pandemonium" bracelet)
Tell us what you think. Mocha and I are dying to get your feedback!^_^

http://th07.deviantart.net/fs50/300W/i/2009/259/7/d/pandemonium_bracelet_by_Tchiii_chan.jpg the bracelet has been etched as well and then oxidized and polished so that only the handwriting has a golden-antique look.

They are fantastic!! You have achieved such a masculine and powerful design with that pentacle ...well, and the bracelet too actually!! I bet any teenage boy would love to wear that!! Great stuff!!:Y: What thickness wire did you use for the pentacle??

I love the feel of the pentacle, original design on a well worn subject! The etching on the bracelet is lovely, prefer it to that on the pendant as it is much sharper.
well done :) =D>

Wow... We didn't expect such warm comments in just half a day!!! Thanks you all so much!

To answer your questions, yes we are beginners! Bought a couple of jewellery-making books last Christmas, bought some equipment (before that, all we had was 1 hammer and 2 screwdrivers. Really!) and got started around february (in the evening and week-ends since we're still teaching).
We used 2mm thick oval wire for the outside circle, 2mm round wire for the star, and 0.5 I think for attaching the star to the circle as well as making our own jump rings to attach the pentagon to the star.

We must say that soldering the big circle was an absolute NIGHTMARE and we are very VERY grateful for all the advice we got on the forum about soldering thicker pieces:ta:

Did I mention we had never seen or heard of a pentacle pendant before the customer asked us one? We had to do a little research, thought the pentagon idea would add some originality to all the designs we'd seen, and off we went!

Again thank you so much for your advice/help/comments on this project!

I've posted a couple production photos on my newly-created blog:

After goodness knows how many years I still couldn't solder a 2mm wire ring that nicely :) (if at all arggh)

Really neat work, particularly the pentacle, which must have been quite difficult to make. Well done.
