Pandora and Pandora-style beads are lovely, some great designs. Noticed a lot of girls and ladies sporting them recently. My daughter absolutely loves them. Will Cookson be stocking them any time soon?

What do you guys think of them? :D

Hi Adele,

I haven't bought any Pandora beads (I've already got far too many beads now and my obsession shows no signs of diminishing!):">, but I asked our local village jeweller (who is a good one), what he thought of them and he said they were v popular, but that it could be a fad type of thing.

Just thought I'd let you know what he thought.[]

cheers
Jules

I think they're probably a bit of a fad, beautiful tho they are.

I know this is an old thread but I'm bored :D and I just had to say I really don't get these Pandora beads.
I've seen them in shops and think they're overrated and overpriced.

That's why argos are currently selling a sevent quid bracelet with four beads for 'half-price!'

I see Cookson have jumped on the bandwagon.

I'm with you Lesley - I quite like handmade silver cored lampwork beads, but the mass produced stuff does absolutely zilch for me.

However, I should probably be grateful, as I seem to sell a lot of bracelets for putting them on!

i have to admit i have a pandora it was bought by my friends for my birthday and at that time there wernt many of them around but i still love it and the idea of it but dont wear it as often as i did. Becky Fairclough has some lovely pandora style beads in her blog that she has just made they are to die for and i am going to make a Jen Pind bracelet especially for them if i can ever work out the size and gage i am supposed to be using.

the flameworked beads are lovely - I was going to learn flameworking with a local beadmaker who has made a fair living from them, and they're good.

Now, like most things sadly, they're mass produced tat. Such a shame because the initial idea of a charm bracelet for the new millenium was a good one.

Emerald, if it's any help, I did the kit for Becky for her bracelet. Feel free to contact me if I can help.

Knitting needles are great for making jump rings - another of George's tips.:)

Ah Emerald, are you Joanne?

JPL needs an AR of between 2.9 and 3.1. Nothing else will work. You also need to use HH or fully hard wire for a chain in this size, it's not strong enough otherwise.

Ah George you found me lol

Thank you for that, and the knitting kneedle sounds like a great idea.:)

I sell both sterling and costume "Pandora Like" beads in my shop but don't stock the Pandora brand as it's £1000's to start up with them!
Believe the original brand that started the trend was Trollbeads (http://trollbeads.com/site/trollbeads/)..
I saw the glass trollbeads being made by an Artisan lamp-worker as a trade show it was a fabulous demo :Y:

I just bought some pandora beads and a few bracelets to make as they seem to be popular. PJ Beads have some p-style beads at reasonable prices and in good colours. they seem so heavy to me when you make them up, but they don't look nice with only a few beads on.

Hi
There are loads of UK beaders who make fantastic lampworked glass beads which are suitable for Pandora bracelets and which are unique as well as beautiful! Try searching Etsy for silver cored glass beads - I got over 600 results!

Is it my imagination or are these charm bracelet companies just producing clones - I spotted another one that I hadn't heard of called Chamilia and it could just as easily be Pandora or Trollbeads - now is that also an unfortunate name or is it just my feeble little mind?

I see one of the big high street names is selling Chlamydia beads - doesn't look as if they've spotted the name significance :)

Well the expression is 'keeping up with the Joneses', but I don't know of a Jones shoe shop - or is there a Jones the Bootmaker? That rings a bell - anyway, no they don't sell shoes (even more  - mere man don't forget!)

Talking of boots - I went into the paper shop today and asked for a packet of condoms, the chap behind the counter said "I'm sorry we don't sell them here, have you tried Boots? ", I said "Yes, but they keep falling off!"

Boom! Boom! The old ones are always the best

Sadly no - I'm still 'between women' at the moment - I'm thinking of starting a forum campaign though to 'get GETi a girlfriend' (with prizes as well!) - got any single friends you can push my way? :) (sense of humour essential!)
