Hi - does anyone know where I can buy 9ct gold x 5mm stars (or even 14ct)?
Don't say cast them because I just don't have the equipment. Thanks guys

Theresa,

You could always cut a wax model out and cast it in cuttlefish perhaps?

Or if you're stuck and need perfect accuracy, then send me a PM with what size / designs you need and I'll post you off some 3D printed models to cast from as opposed to making your own from wax?

Just a thought.

Thanks Nick - what is the cost please?
About casting - is it possible to press a model into sand or something similar and then pour the gold directly into that depression rather than making it enclosed?

No cost as I'd be happy to post you a few for free.

You can carve out of charcoal, cuttlefish, clay, etc and the reason you make it enclosed is to prevent spillage and to end up with a neat sprue. You could just pour it in directly if you wanted to however.

I never ever make 2-piece moulds myself. I use one half ( say cuttlefish ) and fully depress the model into it. The other half is used as a funnel and to stop the metal flowing everywhere. Really simple stuff.
