Hi,

I really hope someone can help. I've just got a mini kiln for my birthday and I've been looking for some type of heat mat/ fiber board to place it on. I cannot really find anything, what do you guys use and where do you get it from? Are there any companies in the UK that sell what I'm looking for?

Thank you for any help
Madeleine

I like the 300mm x 300mm soldering boards sold by cousins. I've heard their customer service is non existent and they don't take returns but for something low value like this it doesn't seem too bad.

If they arrive snapped in two you'll get nowhere with them.

I am not an expert on kiln set ups, but when I used my propane gas Flamefast kiln in my workshop, I just sat it on a 60cm x 40cm. porcelain floor tile, seated on my bench, a tile which cost me £7 from Toppstiles. No heat problems and the tile was easy to wash clean.

I used one of these tiles; http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod45964/devon-grey-tile.html
