It's an interesting tool; I wouldn't get too carried away with their tools list though (no rolling mill?) and the costs are a touch optimistic in many areas, but: It does provide a start point for costing out what a jewellery start-up could cost.

Although, a lot of people who start off as hobbyists will collects a lot of the necessary tools etc before they decide to make it a business venture, so in those cases the cost woudl be reduced a bit.

And you add those tools to your capital equipment purchases in the first year - you just have to provide an 'evidenced' second hand value for them (HMRC guy said use e-bay for this - take a screen print!)
