So, i made my first bracelet. A simple 4mm Tiger's eye and onyx beads, attached using bead stringing wire.

I've only been wearing it for a few weeks, but I notice now that some of the Tiger's eye beads have chipped on the insides due to friction of rubbing against one another. It isn't very noticeable, but well, I noticed :)

The beads aren't tight, there was a space of approximately of one bead left when I made it, and it's maybe 1.5 now.

Would they continue wearing down? Is there a way of preventing this from happening? Like maybe tiny rubber spacers? Or is this just normal wear that one must accept?

The reason I ask is that i plan on making a few more with 8mm beads soon.

Hi Varga, there are several members qualified to give you expert advice on this, but I think the answer will be metal spacers or bead caps like tis http://www.cooksongold.com/category_select.jsp?query=bead+caps.

You can also make them yourself if you invest in some tools. Dennis.
