Hello! I have made settings before but not triangular, I have watched tutorials on at the bench and its basically the same as I have done previously, I just wondered if anyone had any tips or suggestions? I have to make 7 the same size in silver, so I'm sure i'll be a pro after! :-O

Make sure you drill a relief in the claw where the points of the stones sit. A small dimple will do so the point is not in contact with the claw otherwise there is a good chance it will be broken

If they are the kind with sharp corners, it helps to have a trillion bezel mandrel too. You can mark where to form them and they will come out more even. Also make the join along one side and not at a corner, as you want gentle corners as stated by Joseph.

I see no mention of what size stones you wish to make settings for.

For 4mm. trillion stones, if you cannot buy what you need, I would consider making a steel punch and shaping the colletts in a block of wood or a lead block, practising with copper first. This company sells silver steel rods, ideal for punches and jump ring spits;https://www.ekpsupplies.com/silversteel.html

Thank you, I have found a video tutorial on at the bench so I'll see what he suggests too!
