Good afternoon everyone!

Can anyone recommend a way of colouring sterling/fine silver yellow other than via enamelling? I have made a rose brooch for a customer and I need to give the rose a permanent yellow colour. I was intending to use a yellow alcohol ink and then set with epoxy resin, but the yellow isn't particularly strong, so just wondered if you have any other suggestions?

Would really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Polish it and get the petals gold plated.

This rose of mine was silver then gold plated.

That looks beautiful! I did think of that but my customer wants it to be a true yellow as opposed to gold.

Then up the price and get it enamelled professionally, flowers look great when enamelled. This item I made was silver and hard fired enamels.

Hi, if you don't want to use enamel because of the long process, you can use the efocolour enamel which sets at a low heat, you can use the special heating oven for it which uses tealight candles, or your oven if it's a bigger piece, and is very inexpensive to do, also you can get special glue to hold the powder on if it's not a flat surface.

Or you could maybe try using baroque arts gliders paste, then seal it with a clear acrylic sealer.

Yes, they look great! Can you recommend anywhere that offers an enamelling service?
