Hopefully a quick question (or two) ... what would be the best size of loose chain to create safety chain? Can anyone point me to something explaining the chain size numbering? I recall seeing one but can't seem to find again.
Thanks
Dennis

The answer to the chain mystery is revealed here: http://www.cooksongold.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1389
However 50 or 6omm of the thinnest loose chain, which takes your fancy will do the trick. All you ave to do is sweat a jump ring to each end.
Failing that, if you dont need many, you might go for these: http://www.cooksongold.com/category_select.jsp?query=safety+chain Dennis

That was a useful link, I have often wondered. I was lucky when I bought my first piece of chain, it was the right size and I have always copied what was on the bag for orders since.

Thanks Dennis. I've seen the products, but I have need for a few now (yes, appreciate there's 6 per order in Sterling)!
I could recall the no of links per inch, but not what the other no was - nor in which order - so what I could recall didn't help much really!!
