Hi can anyone recommend a good stone setting course? Most of what iv learned so far has come from books or Youtube😃, but I'd like to get some actual One to one tuition to help perfect and polish my basic skills, the area I'm looking most to improve is my bead and grain setting (pave). I know the theory on the different ways of doing it but when it comes to doing it I'm not quite happy with the results, especially cutting the threads. The drilling of the seats and raising or isolating the beads is fine it's just cuttin the unwanted hold away to leave a nice crisp thread and bead.
Thanks for any advice in advance.

If you are around London Mike, then try Holts Academy, Clerkenwell. Some courses are free.

I did two days here: http://www.whitneyjewelleryschool.co.uk/diamond.html and thought it was great - really improved my setting.

This one looked pretty good as well: http://creatstudio.co.uk/workshop-and-courses/stone-setting/

Hi Jill, I have had a one to one visit at John Russels house about a year ago, I did learn a bit as we covered many types of setting but I think I'm gonna try the one with Tony Tigg, thanks
