hI, hope someone can help on this.

I picked up this ring stretcher/ shrinker 'thing' last week. It has stickers on it saying that it is made by 'popular progress'. It's very well made and complete. Just to look at it is like admiring a piece of workshop history.

The thing is.... there's no instructions. Has anyone used one of these and can give me an insight into how it works?766676677668

I've never seen that particular design before, but I can say how I'd use it.

There's a shaped roll that clamps onto the shank; hopefully you have an assortment of them for different ring shank shapes. Position the ring on the mandrel (straight!), wind the top screw down until the roll is pressing on the shank and turn the handle. Check the size, reposition the ring on the mandrel and repeat.

Go slowly and practice on something non-critical. This should be pretty good for rings with settings too, as you can roll most of the shank (as opposed to stretchers, which aren't suitable.
