Hi, let me start by apologising Iv probably got this in the wrong place,so sorry in advance.

I have a question, I'm trying to find out how people calculate there business costs on such things as heating,electricity and how they calculate it into the price of there products?

In either case you need to add up you annual costs from your rent, mortgage, insurance and utility bills.

Then, if working away from home, simply divide by your working hours to arrive at an hourly rate.

If working from home, divide by seven and multiply by the number of days worked. In this case the inland revenue will be involved, as they will let you know what percentage of household expenses they will allow for tax purposes, so they will do the work for you. Of course an accountant would also sort this out.

Then in addition, you must add an hourly rate for labour and the cost of tools and materials. If selling through a gallery this will lead you to your wholesale price.
