Does anyone have experience of using rose gold for setting please? I'm still working out how to set my opal and the customer would now like rose gold.

A few years ago I made a rose gold pendant with a bezel set Topaz, I found the rose gold a bit hard to make a neat bezel setting so I used some 22ct. as the bezel setting, which made the setting easy and the customer wasn't bothered.

Ive done a few bezels with it which work ok now Im rolling it down to 0.25mm even in the 9ct.
18ct is a bit easier though.

Thank you James. I'll suggest that to the customer.

Hi Carole,
I've made a number of Rose gold settings, the higher the carat the easier the setting, with an opal, I would recommend at least 18ct.

Talking about settings need someone's help urgently. A friend has asked me to set a cushion shaped square cab in a prong setting. The base for the stone has been cut and soldered onto the ring with the side pieces made into prongs. Problem is I can't get the prongs tight enough, even tried using a hammer. Please has anyone any ideas on how to get them tighter. As you can see there is a lot of "tidying" up to do
