Scratches! Help!

Hi all, I'm new to the forum (and to jewellery making) and have a basic question. I love making bangles and recently used square wire. All went well except I'm having trouble getting the tiny scratches out of the flat sides (not the inner one, or the outer one, but the two sides). Is there a tool that can help with this? I've tried sandpapering up through the grades but it leaves marks on the flat silver where I stop and start. Any ideas anyone? Thanks. Jill

When you sandpaper a flat surface put your sheet of sandpaper on a metal baseplate and move the bangle in a circular motion on the paper. This should give you an even finish as you will be sanding the whole area at one time. You don't say what you are then polishing the silver with?

I think once you get the sanding sorted in the different grades then it will polish up nicely. :)
