Hi - have just had a request for a gold setting and chain. Phoned Cookson for discount as none showing on my account. They say that if I buy more gold they will look into giving me a discount, I pointed out that unless I know the discount in advance how can I quote my customer?
Eventually they said they would give me 'quote'. I felt like banging my head on the desk.
Makes it very difficult to price up a job!!!
Has anyone else had this problem?

How do you get discount out of them? I didn't even know it was on offer.

You have to ask. They don't offer!
If you use a lot of bullion, findings etc just ask.

I didn't know about this and is it only gold or does that include silver? What do they call a decent amount before they will give discount?

I know my tutor got a discount on silver, but she was buying for herself and the class. I would assume it's a combination of quantity and regularity

Hi everyone,
just for clarification we do offer discounts across a variety of product groups and yes they are volume related (weight and/or quantity). We realise this excludes a portion of our customer base so we have also entered into agreements with various Jewellery buying groups and offer discounts to their members, these include Association of Contemporary Jewellers, British Society of Enamelers, Contemporary British Silversmiths and Guild of Jewellery Designers
Hope this helps
Rob
