Hi, does anybody know what the foam/velour/flock/material is called that you normally find inside jewellery boxes and packaging? I make recycled silver jewellery, make recycled wooden boxes for them and would like to put an insert into the box but cannot think of what to search for to find a supplier of the material. Unless anyone can think of a recycled type padding or wadding to continue with the eco-friendly theme? Thanks Nicola. Ps. recycled toilet roll doesn't look good - I've tried hehehehe ;)

You could try the Bag and Box Man http://www.bagnboxman.co.uk/acatalog/Foam-Sheets-Wadding.html

How about self adhesive baize:

It's very good in and under anything, to create a non scratch surface.

You might also like to include Town Talk Anti Tarnish tabs, to keep your pieces pristine. There are many other makes, but this one is printed to explain its purpose. Dennis.

Hi Pickle. I've made some boxes and used black velveteen material for the lining. The material came from a pair of trousers found in the charity shop.

If you wanted a more cushion type lining, maybe you could make your own pillow shapes from recycled material and use the stuffing for (or from, depending on how recycled you want to go) toys then stitched closed?
