Hehe, I think a few people have, just a case of getting the ball rolling! Murano Silver has an album posted with a few things in, I love her angelus ring! I'm in work now so can't really post anything, but I am sure I will at some point!

The Angelus ring was one of my first wax modelling pieces & took forever! lol

Well I think it was worth it! Once you have the cast made I'm assuming it's re-usable?

MuranoSilver

I made the wax then the ring was cast from that - destroying the wax in the process....
I'd need to send them the ring to make a mould for more waxes & rings.
Only problem being I made it in my size (k) so really I need to make 2 more figures for moulding a medium & large size

Ok... here's some of mine from my Flickr account, the rest is in my shop but it's not awfully inspiring as I'm just waiting for some money to arrive so I can spent about £500 on new tools like soldering equipment and the likes *excited*

First of all... A Silver Plated bespoke order
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stripypixiesocks/3687479528/

Squashed metal... I bought a planishing block and hammer not too long ago and got overexcited :D
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stripypixiesocks/3530783457/in/set-72157620811750655/

More Planishing (and my earrings) with sterling silver
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stripypixiesocks/3527587217/in/set-72157620811750655/

A beautiful piece taking a mere 8 hours to make as those beads are all 1mm and sewn together in a bead weaving style with sterling silver clasp
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stripypixiesocks/3499960569/in/set-72157620811750655/

Something I made for myself (which I absolutely adore and wear every day) which is again sterling silver with Swarovski Crystals and glass Cat's Eye beads... three of my favourite things!!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stripypixiesocks/3499960425/in/set-72157620811750655/

... and finally... another bespoke order on sterling silver
http://www.flickr.com/photos/stripypixiesocks/3433101023/in/set-72157620811750655/

More to follow as and when :D

Oooh I love the button earrings very cute, and a great way to make the
ordinary extraordinary!
I made some out of fine silver once (will try & find a picture).
The copper & silver pierced disks are fabulous too
they look like a mad "Roswell" salt and pepper set.

They remind me of tea strainers, watering cans and salt and pepper. They're getting stuffed with electronic components which is proving to be trickier than I thought as I can't solder them using silver solder and heat. The soldering iron method isn't working either. So I've tried lots of other ways of holding them in place including air dry clay - all a waste of time, so I ordered some glue from CG that sets in 30 minutes and will just use that instead.

I like them as they are too, so think I'm going to make some more - but smaller ones to wear as brooches with no electronics.

Love your jewellery Alexandra- especially the windows and chess pieces! You so need to get those out there for contemporary jewellery shows etc. I straight away thought how cool would a window look with plique a jour? (enamel or resin!!) Or even some gems set in tubes so the light shone through to represent the colours.......:)

Oh thanks for the lovely comments Emma.
I do love these pieces and wish I could market them succesfully - if you know how I'd love some pointers!
The big jewellery shows always seem so expensive, I've never been brave enough to try one. Were you thinking of 'Desire' etc? I was on the waiting list one year but I decided i couldnn't quite manage it.

I avoided resin at uni cos it was so smelly! I do love the results of silver and resin together though... Do you work in resin?

Gorgeous range of work, I can't believe how everyone's style varies so much! I always want to know exactly how everything is made:confused:

As for my work, the gallery page on my website has a fair selection:

Charlotte, what year did you graduate? I feel like I have seen your large necklace before... I wonder if I saw it at New Designers or something..?

I graduated in 2004.

Charlotte

Thanks Bijou, the nail ring is a fairly new design and it seems to be getting a good reaction!:o

Alexandra - *thinks* I graduated in 2004 as well I think! Which Uni did you go to? I went to Hereford College of Art and Design.

I knew I'd seen it! Its lovely btw!
I did Design: Crafts at Staffordshire. I looked at the Hereford course, but i got the impression that all the student went home at the weekend and i was moving away from home and wanted more student life.

I love the nail work too! I once did a nail cross but it was with rough hewn square nails (well an impression of them..)
I think you should take a picture of you in that collerette with wild hair an make-up I need to see it on!

I LOVE the silver nail handpiece on the commissions page! It must be huge?

Charlotte
22-07-2009, 11:49 AM
Wow, thanks everyone, you'll give me a big head at this rate!

Nic - I'll get the collar out of its box and see if I can sort out a pic... its pretty tarnished by now though and I'm not keen on photos... I'll have to drag someone off the street for a photoshoot;)

The nail ring has been a very successful piece, but its a pain to make because the head has to be at just the right angle and the wire is so thick to bend, I'll probably make a fuller nail collection eventually, just to make life more difficult;)

Alexandra - They insisted on using an awful blurred photo of me and my friend for the front of the prospectus too! Hereford was a lovely place, it took some getting used to though, I was lucky I had lots of friends who never went home, and I was brought up in a tiny town so it was a good next step up for me... you probably made the right decision though;)

Ominicci - The hand piece isn't that big, it goes from the base of the hand and finishes before the fingertips, that one is pretty tarnished too, but I was thinking about cleaning it up for a photo of it being worn because its not too clear.

Alexandra: lots of new resins that a) aren't smelly b) set shiny so no cutting back and polishing! (the brand I use is the one Cooksons is now stocking!!)- I agree all that toxicity put me off before. Took a class a couple of months ago with Clare John and am loving it now!
Yes, sometimes the big shows work best even though big investment! Also could try slightly cheaper ones, like Handmade in Britain, British Crafts. Send pics of your work to Crafts magazine and Dazzle shows. I also joined Crafts Central external network which has proved to be very useful! (£40 per year, access to training, on their website, plus exhibit at their shows or hire their gallery cheaply). Also consider joining JeDeCo (jewellery designers collective), which is free, just started, think it will go places!
hope that helps

Charlotte: Lovely work!
Need to see that commision in context (ie on a hand).
photos are fine, just a bit underexposed- you should be able to sort that out in photoshop (or gimp)
