Would anyone mind giving me an example cost of a recent(ish) single wax item they've sent off for one casting? PM would be great if you don't want to make a public post, would really, really appreciate it !

Silver: wax weight (g) x 10.5 silver conversion x silver price per g.
+ £5 casting charge = Total

9ct Gold: wax weight (g) x 12 gold conversion x gold price per g
+ £7.50 casting charge

18ct Gold: wax weight (g) x 16 gold conversion x gold price per g
+ £10 casting charge

I'll phone my caster on Monday & get some prices per g for you if you like? x

Depending on the size of the item, I think I pay about £20 for the mould plus about £5 for sprueing on top of the casting charge.

thank you both so much - no need Lucie, the info you've given me is fab. Is West One still regarded as our best bet casters?

I use Nexgen. Standard mould £10. Medium mould £15. Single sprue £5, double £7. Casting charge on top. I've been pleased with their work.

I think I've been through just about all of them now lol. I've settled on "Just Castings" for now - they deal quite well with my randomness & my need for super quick turn around times ;)

Another recommendation for Nexgen!! Good quality castings and competitive prices, I'm fairly sure that they offer a finishing/polishing service too. (I don't use it), but I know that many do.
