Cut with plenty of water, or partly immersed, using a good quality, as opposed to a cheapo, diamond cutting disk. Bargain diamond disks tend to be rather thick and destructive.

Start by making the cut along the top and then gradually making it deeper. When it is nearly through it can be broken.

Finish the cut edge with the surface of the disk and then on wet abrasive papers, flat on the bench.

When you are done, the disk can also be used for re-sharpening the two edges of twist drills. Also rubber and silicone polishers can be re-shaped by running them on the flat surface without damaging the disk. In fact it is a way of cleaning it. Dennis.
