From time to time I've extolled the virtues of the diamond coated sharpening set, because the plates are brilliant at finishing straight edges of metal. They can also be used to re-shape rubber and silicone polishing wheels while they are running.

I notice today that our local branch of Liddl is offering them in the form of a block with four grits, and a box to keep it in, for the princely sum of £7.50. Mine shown below is getting a bit old, but cost a great deal more elsewhere.

So if you are near a Liddl, it's worth having a look. Dennis.

Looks good Dennis, I'll have a look locally if I get a chance. There's one just down the road but I've never been inside!

I recently picked up one of these from a local hardware store, paying just around £6 - they're good (the store and the whetstone)

Yes that's right Pat. You get four grits, which is good, but the holes can be a nuisance for very small items, unless you keep to the edges. Dennis.
