I've had an enquiry from someone wanting this ring reproduced
5158
It has a 1ct Asscher diamond which he says he may be able to source himself. I have some other images if anyone's interested.

Could be of interest. White gold or platinum?

Platinum Peter.

My temptation would be to CAD it for the stone - assuming there's nothing in the usual catalogues to match those shoulders.
Seems slightly odd that they want an Asscher cut when that's a round one? (I'm guessing from that photo anyway?)
Definitely interested.

OK, that's a little more obviously Asscher!
That would make the largest of the side stones less than 10pts, wouldn't it?

This is what he said Peter
I am looking for somebody to reproduce an engagement ring and wondered if it is the sort of thing you would be able to help me with.
I have included pictures of the ring with this email...I hope! If the images are missing, please let me know and I will send them again. It a ring from the 20's which I found online and I have not been able to find it for sale anywhere else. If it is possible to reproduce it, it would be amazing.
As far as I can make out, the diamond is 1ct Asscher cut with single cut diamonds on the shoulders. I would probably be able to source the diamonds myself if needed. The band is platinum.
If you think that you could help, please let me know and I will get in touch to arrange an appointment to come and see you. Also, if at all possible, and I realise that it may not be, but if you had even a rough idea of cost at this stage, that would be good to know as well.
Thank you in advance for your help - if there is anything else you need to know before you can say if you could do it, please let me know.

No help at all, but what a lovely ring. I'd wear that in a heartbeat.

It is lovely isn't it. I wish I had the time to give it a go, but I know it would stress me out too much at my busiest time. I think Peter is going to take it on and I really look forward to seeing the finished article.

Yup, I've now been in touch and am hassling with loads of questions.
Well, I like to get my specifications right first!

I think it may be a Tiffany ring ?

Just had a skim of their site; doesn't look like a current one?
If it's a COTS approach, I'll point him that way instead.

What's COTS please?

Sorry, bleed-through from the other life!
Stands for Components Off The Shelf - the idea that if you design systems using standard parts they cost less than having everything custom-made.
Nice idea, but in practice it usually means people want the cost benefits, but can you "just" tweak x, y and z?
