My evans tumbler took a tumble and the big plastic cog broke. It seems they have gone out of business as well and a search for spares has proved fruitless. Does anyone know how I can make a replacement one or jimmy it so I can get it to work again? I really do not want to have to buy a new body.

Got some specs on the gear? OD, shaft diameter, number of teeth?

http://www.technobotsonline.com/mod1-economy-plastic-gear-set-1.html may have one that fits, for example.

do you measure OD to the top/outside of the cog teeth or to the bottom of the teeth?

I think I might have found the people who made the cogs but the guy is out of the office today. I'm actually pretty appalled that they can sell something which can't be easily fixed.

OD should be to the tips - although that's the lazy (quick & easy) way to measure gears.

hmmm well technobots don't have one to fit. I'm wondering if I can't get one from Kimber-Allan, then maybe just stick on any big wheel and use a rubber tension band. it's not like it's rocket science.
