What is your favourite way of setting them Nic? I like the idea of setting them into a syringe squirt!! :Y: It sounds like a rather adult version of glitter....bane of all mothers!!!

The last lot I did was for a butterfly brooch, I trapped it in between syringe work and fired it with the piece

you can also embedd them after firing by using resin or polymer clay :)

So they are fairly 'chunky' then...not quite like glitter...:giggle: What sort of diameter are they? I was thinking it was sort of one stage up from pixie dust (mica) - but it looks more like one size smaller than tiny czs.

Yes, that's how I imagined them, sort of mica like. I looked at the art clay gold accent too, which looks rather interesting when there's a bit more money around

Oooh can you send me details - I'll start working on my Store Manager right away. I might have to come on public transport as I don't think my car is going to get through it's next MOT but it will be worth it. I need to get some order to my PMC work, too much trial and error and not enought pre-planning.

:)

Oops sorry Coco
Just saw your "PMC sheet" question, yes I use it though not very often
you can use it to waeve with and also for surface decoration (using paper punches)
It's great for punching out shapes - firing them and then using them as glass inclusions...then you can origami it...
Hope that helps

I love the idea of sheet - for drapes, gentle folds and stuff. Sadly, it needs a kiln, sigh.

I have had some sheet for ages, bit afraid to use it! Does it break/tear easily?

Errm I hate to say but yes it does and it seems to get more fragile as it
gets older....Even my very very old (4 years) paper clay is good for cutting out with paper punches though! :Y:

Typical, lol!! I shall have to get cracking with it, although my last PMC attent was a disaster, and I just seemed to manage to creat a load of scrap!

Seriously considering paying you a visit Nic, sure there are nearer courses, but I think I would rather travel to you if I did it. Would save me lots of money on wasted clay in the long run!

You'd be more than welcome :)
I think the farthest travellers (so far) have been from Liverpool ;))

punches are great for metal clay. quilling and origami also work....
crushed mineral accents are lovely, but some colours can't be fired! They are about the size of casting grain. I like setting them in resin.....
