View Full Version : Suppliers - White Gold
Ladies and Gents,
I am ashamed to say that i seem to only decend on this website when i need help, and thus far feel really guilty for being a poor excuse for a member, especially when you guys ALWAYS help me without question...
Thus forth i have another favour to ask...
I am struggling to find a supplier of 18ct white gold of the required size, 3x2mm.
Ive looked at Cookson, but they only supply 3x3mm and this have mocked up a silver version of the ring, is a tad large hight wise.
So question is, does anyone know of a supplier?
Many thanks as usual guys it is always appriciated....(kissing tush too much now?!?!? :)) cheers
Toni

Sorry to state the obvious, if you are after a flat strip for a ring, Cookson do sell 2mm. thick sheet in 18ct white. So why not just order a 3mm wide strip.

Hmm. The system seems to accept 3mm as a width; are you sure that's not a length limitation? If you get really stuck, there's always the option of rolling down some 3mm wire (although it will widen fractionally) - I can do that if you don't have anyone close who'll do it.
One thing to remember with the sheared pieces is that there's invariably some edge distortion.

Ive found the email, and the smallest width is 5mm, which is too expensive.
3mm wire, would that leave it with curved edges?

Very slightly, yes - could either be tapped square, filed square or left alone as a design element. I'd probably make up the ring then sand the edges square if they needed it.
