Hi All

I'm new to the forum but have been playing around with metal for while now!, my backgound include's Blacksmithing,engineering and Silversmithing.

Way back in 2005 I completed the Level 1 and 2 PMC certification and have loved playing with this medium ever since.

I look forward to making new friends and contributing to the forum.

Welcome to the forum Peter, I am new myself and also have an engineering background part of which was working with a blacksmith for 6 month small world

Even smaller.
I worked as a farrier and occasional blacksmith for the first 15 or so years of my adult life.
I'm not sure what I find easier to work, steel or silver.
The trouble I'm finding with silver is that you ideally need small hands and good eyes, neither of which I have.
Any other paramedics on here?

I've got two Uncles and two Cousins who are Farrier's, smell of burning hoofs turns my stomach so I never went down that road !. I like working Silver and Steel equaly, having sausage fingers makes fine work and stone setting challenging !.As for eyes I've been known to gaffer tape a 20 X loupe to my head forafew hours, I look like something off Star Trek sometimes! :)
