Im only just starting to sell my jewellery properly and am booked in for doing some Christmas Fairs etc from November. I wondered if anyone had some advice on good companies to use for insurance or if there are any particular things I should look out for...

I got mine from CMTIA - it is £47 for a year. http://www.cmtia.co.uk/

Though I've heard that you can get it cheaper from A-N if you subscribe to them. http://www.a-n.co.uk/

£47 from CMTIA is good value and it says its for £5M as some of them only cover you for £1M.

I use the A-N one, there is something about paying out for insurance and never getting anything back. With them you get a monthly magazine with all sorts of interesting articles and for me at least I feel I am getting more for my money. The liability is 5 mil.

I use Ian Wallace - I pay £222 per year, that includes 2 million products and public liability, plus my tools and stock insured at fairs, and while at my studio.
We rent our house and I have nowhere to do my silver, so had to rent a seperate studio :-(

I use these AIR | a-n (http://www.a-n.co.uk/air)
I think it was £36 for a year and it's very easy to apply online.

I use Ian Wallace too as their insurance covers me for teaching and demonstrating too, whether at my workshop or at someone else's venue, as well as everything Lydia mentions.
