Hi,

It's me again....

I was wondering if anyone could help me with photopolymer plates? I am desperate to buy some but I have no idea which one I should choose. I've tried to google it and looked in the cooksongold shop. The one I've found, well... The description of them is not telling me much. It will be my first purchase and I don't want to ended up with something I can't use.

Any help will be appreciated :)

I don't use them so can't really help in that respect but I do work with silver clay and I find Paula at the PMC Shop (http://shop.pmcshop.co.uk/ppp-photopolymer-plate-kit-408-p.asp) is hugely helpful if you have any questions about her products. She does stock photopolymer plates so you might want to drop her a line with your dilemma and I'm sure she will try and help you out :)

As I don't have the faintest idea of what this is all about, and Googling has made it even more mysterious, Could you tell us a bit more about this subject, Babette?

You are using photopolymer plates to transfer the pictures into the "shapes" ( Like moulds) but to do that you are using UV lamp :) I think that's the simplest way to explain it. :)

I get mine off ebay and use sunlight (hollow laughter) to expose them.

For anyone who uses photopolymer plates, can they be used to transfer written/printed text to PMC? I'm guessing yes but just wanted to check and see if anyone has done this or knows that it's definitely possible. I see some fingerprint companies offer handwritten text transferred to their designs so I'm thinking this is the method they use.

Thanks!
