I did a little silver clay workshop last night with a group of NWR ladies. One brought a little butterfly from a birthday card, she cut around it and carved out the detail on the butterfly. She would like it to have the same finish as the one on the card, the indentations are matt, sort of white and the raised areas are shiny silver.
I'm wondering if I should brass brush the whole thing and then burnish the high points, or leave it in the fired state and burnish the high points, or do you have a better suggestion??

Thanks

PS where can I buy Baldwin's patina, or can I make it myself?

Why dont you try pickling it and then rub the tops of the bumps.

As Pat says, but if a cloth won't bring up the highlights, try some fine Micro Mesh, as per my yesterday's post. Dennis.,
