Well here goes.

This is my first attempt at making something specifically to sell instead of just to wear.

I have used Amazonite ovals, jet crystal beads and accented them with Stirling Silver Wire. Although you can't see them in these pictures, I created the connectors and clasp out of PMC clay as well. As you can see I'm no David Bailey but I hope the pictures give you an idea of what the set looks like.

Any comments good or bad are welcome.

Annie

I love amazonite...but I have never thought of pairing it with black. It really is quite striking isn't it? I am just HOPELESS with colours in jewellery!! I think I must have learned so much about colour theory over the years I have forgotten how to use my instinct!! And I love the look of the 'upside down' drop on the earrings!! So many of us automatically put the 'weight' of the earring at the bottom but it looks brilliant at the top and then tapering away at the bottom! As for not being David Bailey...you're in good company...you will discover that many of us :'(:(|#-o:confused: over our photographs!!

:ta: Thanks for your comments, it made me feel really good after a long day at work. And thank you for the warm welcome it's nice to have a conversation with people that doesn't involve football, politics or swine flu.

I've just treated myself to a tripod and I'm looking to build a box that I can 'stage' my work in, I want to try shining a strong light through various materials like muslin & voile to see what effect it has, maybe using coloured fabrics as well. Most of it will probably look terrible but it will be fun trying.

I must say I'm torn between reading through lots of posts with a glass of wine to hand or doing a little more work on a PMC clasp I've designed.

Mmm maybe I'll try a little of both.

Kindest Regards,

Annie

Hi Annie,

:welcome: to the forum.

I love your amazonite jewellery :Y: I too wouldn't have thought of putting those colours together, but they look stunning!

Talking of photo boxes etc, here's a piccie of my photo box I made out of material stuck on the back sides and bottom of a glass bookshelf. It looks really naff, but seems to work ok :-D

#-o. Now why didn't I think of that???? I only mentioned the other day that I had a lamp with a daylight bulb for doing colour work....why on earth didn't I just make that little mental leap which would enable me to use it for my photographs?? Derr!! Thanks Jules[]
