Silver Dip

Hi ,
I have bought some Goddards silver dip, it comes in a glass jar but without a basket to put pieces in. Does anyone know if it is safe to decant the solution into a plastic dip jar from a previous jewellery cleaner. the jar was empty and has been washed out.

Yes.
Two precautions though: 1. Leave silver in it for a prolonged period and it will turn a dull grey, difficult to remove.
2. Some porous stones can develop a milky cast, so take care with stones. Dennis

Thank you Dennis, I will bear in mind your warnings in the future.
It was after watching Andrew Berry's video on cleaning tarnished silver that I decided to try and bring my silver gate bracelet back to life. It did!! I'm so glad because it used to belong to my gran.
