gauge versus mm

I have searched the threads but cannot find an easy US gauge to millimetre conversion chart, I also searched the web and though I found an explanation of the US gauge stuff there seems not to be a quick conversion chart available. I have no clue what they, the folks in US, are talking about when they talk of gauge. Not just for wire but for sheet too.

Anybody got one?
