I recently completed a commission for a personalised silver cuff bracelet, which I am very pleased with and my customer was also.

I've written a blog on my website about my experience. You can see it here: Alexandra Buckle - Personalised Cuff Bracelet Commission (http://www.alexandrabuckle.co.uk/alex.asp?SiteID=12&PageID=528&SectionID=58)

It will be a bit simple technically for most of you, but I'm hoping you'll appreciate the designs and pictures :)

Thanks for the positive comments!
Stuart - I used 1mm thick silver for this design. I chose this thickness because I'd be able to cut it fairly easily but also in the hope that it would be thick enough to for strength. It was very sturdy in the end so that was good. Also there was the cost of the silver to consider when using a thicker sheet.

That's good! I was worried the text would be a little boring to those in the know! I wish I'd taken some more varied pictures as I was making it to help illustrate the the blog post, but it's hard to get photos while you've got your work on a mandrel and your holding a hammer... I needed a third hand!

Beautiful! I admire your piercing skills :)

Piercing was the one thing I really took to while I was at uni. Luckily I really enjoy doing it too, I find it quite relaxing!

That's lovely - both in design and execution. You should be very, very pleased with it - as the recipient clearly is :)

Hi Alexandra,
What a beautiful cuff and such tidy piercing.
Piercing is one of my favourite things too, I find I get absolutely absorbed! Going to have a look at your blog now :-)

Me too! It's strangely hypnotic once you get the rhythm going.

The cuff is stunning, and I enjoyed the blog post.

Absolutely beautiful work! Your blog post was really interesting to read, especially with all the step by step photos. I'd like to send the link to your post to my students if that's ok with you? They'd find all the info you've put in there really useful.

Loving the cuff. Kind of thing I aspire to do. I plan to start with a small pendant when learning to pierce.

Hello Alexandra, it seems that we both have a liking for poppies, butterflys and piercing. Well done for your bangle piercing. One of the most useful thing I did was to take some sfaety back needle files, of various grades and sizes, and grind the backs down so that I have safety backed needle files with razor sharp edges. They are perfect for cleaning up those sharp interior pierced angles.
I also love piercing and have built up a small reputation for my piercing work.
Here are some of my poppies and piercing,
James
