Dear Claire,
I have thought about this from time to time, but not yet done it. Le Prevo Leather have some Sam Browne studs with rounded ends which screw onto the leather. The other end of the strap would then have a set of holes with short slits, so that they can be popped onto the stud. The bases measure 9.0 mm and the knobs 6.5, so I guess the straps would have to be at least 14mm wide. You would also need a leather punch. I could post you a few in an envelope for you to inspect if you can give me an address in my private messages.
Kind regards, Dennis.
