Hi,

I am planning on etching some silver with niric acid and it looks pretty nasty stuff. Is it necessary / advisable to use a respirator?? If so can anyone advise on which type and a supplier please. I have been reading and looking into this most of the afternoon and am now very confused!!

Thanks
Tabby

Hey, MuranoSilver (Nic), where did you get your fetching pink numbers? I think they're the acid vapour ones from 3M?

I'm sure it is advisable Tabby.

I just work outside, but I wouldn't ever tell anyone else to do so.

That's what I was thinking of doing George, but just thought I'd see what people thought. Buying the nitric acid in the morning :-)

I got them from Rio in the USa
Theyre the 3M 60923 P100 Filter ~ they cover dust particles, organic vapor and acids/gas
(plus they're cute too, lol)
