They are lovely Cathy, I haven't ventured into lampwork and to my shame have to admit that I've only just been introduced to these lovelies that are made by some very talented people.

Those are lovely Cathy. Do you work with a cab mandrel or are they slumped?

Can I ask what glass you've used for the lime green one - it's fabulously zingy!

I just do them off mandrel and flatten them with a masher.
Sometimes I slump them afterwards but not always- I'm ok with strange bumps for the most part.
All the glass is moretti- the lime green is etched so it looks like beach glass.

they are lots of fun to do..but I must admit I have lots of flops too.

Lynn, there are lots of lampwork class options around Bristol. You could do worse than start here: Fire Works - Gallery and Studio (http://www.fireworksjewellery.com/workshops/Default.aspx)

Thank you so much for all the generous comments. Lynn- lampwork is not all that difficult. You probably could manage to get the hang of it from the internet or a book. There is an excellent book called "Passing the Flame" By Corrina Tettinger (think thats right) that covers most of what you'd need.

If I was over there I'd show ya!!! :)

Well I did wonder and tried to find a tutorial but to no avail. To be honest money is real tight for me so the cost of the £60 for 3 hours is something to think about... any suggestions as to any online tut'?

Cathy, they are simply sumptuous and I must say that if you have made those from Precious Metal Clay then that is the best I have seen so far on this board, wonderful.

Oh, they're gorgeous Cathy. They're the sort of thing I had in mind when I decided I wanted to make my own jewellery.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they're made from PMC.

You're right Carole, the bracelet is a soldered & fused piece (as far as I know)
Jo - lovely cabs, the elegant settings really set them off beautifully! Love that stormy one at the end :Y:

Those rings are gorgeous!!! I love how youve set them Jo! The cabs are really lovely too. I too expecially like the storm one. Organic designs turn my crank!

While I love precious metal clay I don't use it as a rule...it is horribly expensive over here! About $25 for 10 grams. If it wasn't for the price I would embrace it with my heart....My stuff is pretty well all soldered sterling- hammared and worked for texture.
Actually- I think I must be part pyromaniac- I am happiest when all my torches are flaring and hissing.
