Large piece

Hi,
I've been asked if I would make a full size hand print in pmc of a 9 month old baby. I have never made a piece that large before and am trying to work out how much pmc I'll need for a hand approx. 9cm x 11cm. I want it to look substantial without having to use more pmc than necessary.Does anyone know how many cm3 25g of pmc is? I thought approx. 3cm3 but not sure. Has anyone done this before and have any tips for me as any mistakes could be painfully expensive!!l

I would probably price between 75 small hand to 100g larger then tell them if you use less material the price may go down slightly...
Realistically on a large shaped object you may have to do some repair work
(stress cracks may sometimes happen) so you need to price accordingly.
If it's too costly for them then to commission it at least you haven't
got the headache :Y:
Eg. If a fingerprint charm is £35 then there are at least 10 fingerprint charms in a full hand - which would make your base price £350
This would be a hollow form though, as a comparison here's a bronze casting company that does the whole hand

Or create a mould, and cast, or have it cast, it in sterling, which would be a great deal cheaper and less vulnerable to damage?

Thanks for your advice so far. I'm thinking around two options - a 5mm thick plaque of silver clay around 9cm by 11cm or a 2mm silver clay covering a wood clay filler (to use less clay). If a 25g pack of silver PMC is about 3cm3 (still trying to confirm this) I'm looking at around 17 packs for a solid piece or 7 packs for a hollow piece. I'll discuss pricing with the client (don't expect a problem) but do these approaches make sense? They want it in pure silver so as long as they're prepared to pay, I'm prepared to complete the commission.
