Hi,
I have been thinking putting new lamp work beads on my website in the shape of food...cupcakes, strawberries, cakes (little lampwork charms that go on bracelets) But I have read somewhere that you are NOT allowed to sell jewellery that looks like food for health and safety reasons!!!!Madness I know. Does anyone know about this law???

thanks

I've heard some of the soap makers can't make soap cakes not as the Trading Standards folk thought that
children might be enticed to eat them...
Having said that some of things I hear them saying now would've had my mum washing my mouth out with soap!

There was a small article in Issue 9 of Making Jewellery magazine about this (page 96). They didn't really come to a conclusion, and it seemed to depend on Trading Standards and which trading standards office it was, to how they viewed it.

It does say that it is being discussed on their forum so it may be worth a look.
