I'm a little confussed ... I want a new set of snipe nose pliers.
I've seen the cheaper no names makes in most on-line shops, and other branded versions, or I guess I could even pop down B&Q! Anybody any suggestions or experiences - are some really worth paying the extra for ?

The price denotes the quality I suppose. A good box joint that will not twist when you bend wire, and nice smooth inside faces of the pliers so they do not mark.

I use Lindstroms, but I also rate Wubbers, and the better Beadsmith ranges. Regardless of price, I still think it's worth taking the time to smooth the faces and round off any hard edges.

Have to say, I bever got on with Lindstroms. I've had a set of Swanstroms, which are supposed to be on a par with Lindstrom for quality, but you can only get them in the US. I now use Wubbers and think they're great quality and good value compared to other pliers in the same price bracket.

Another Wubbers girl here. I think you get what you pay for with pliers

Ironmonger's pliers usually have serrated jaws which are useless in jewellery except for drawing- tongs. If you are ever in the Hatton Garden area then S&M Hardware (not a joke) in Leather Lane is a good source of cheap jeweller's tools including pliers.Otherwise Beadsmith are available at John Lewis stores and many bead and hobby shops. Kind regards to you and all the other advisers, Dennis.
