Has anyone got or used one of these?
Claw Making Jig, For Making Wire Collets - Cooksongold.com (http://www.cooksongold.com/Jewellery-Tools/Claw-Making-Jig-For-Making-Wire-Collets-prcode-999-278#reviews)

One of my students was given one for Christmas and despite us playing with it in class (and it's an advanced class, not beginners) we can't work it out properly! It didn't come with any instructions, not even a couple of diagrams, and a search of the internet hasn't helped much.

We've also emailed Cooksons a couple of weeks ago for help with it, but haven't had a reply yet!

Can anyone help? Pretty please?

I think Bigwol can help you with that - he did a tutorial using one on here recently.

I have one of these and they are of very limited usefulness ( if at all) , basically you place wire in all the recesses around the cone to create what looks like the framework of a teepee, then you place the holding ring over that to hold the wires in place, then you just solder where the wires meet at the top and finally saw off the excess wire, I found a couple of tutorials on the internet that demonstrated the process, I will try and locate them for you.

Thank you!! I knew you'd be the right people to ask! I'd done a quick search last night but didn't find that post - my brain must have been fried after teaching last night!

So, basically the jig just does what we'd figured out in class. We were just expecting something, I don't know, a little more fancy for the price?!

Those Hans Meevis tutorials are brilliant, aren't they?
