Hi

This is my first time on a forum, hope someone can help. I am planning on making wedding bands for my sister and brother - in - law. Can you advise me on what ct I should use either 9 or 18 and why? Thank you JMD

It depends what they do for a living and how big their hands are...
e.g if he had size Z fingers and he was a brickie I'd suggest 9ct
1) It'sgenerally harder wearing (less gold more other metals)
2) It's cheaper (see above)

why choose 18ct?
1) It has more value because there's more pure gold in it (costs more too though)
2) It has a richer gold colour (more gold again)

There are other reasons but it would help if you gave us a bit more detail.
e.g have you done much soldering before? What's their budget?
Are you considering any specific designs or profiles?
